Why Cheap 3D Erasers Crack Easily: The Secret Behind Regrind Raw Material Ratio
Many buyers notice low-cost 3D puzzle erasers crack at seams, break when kids take them apart, or split after shipping. The hidden cause lies in the regrind material ratio.
Each time TPR scraps get re-melted and reground, polymer chains shorten. The material loses elasticity and becomes brittle. Budget factories add high shares of mixed regrind to cut costs. Different batches of scraps carry inconsistent hardness, impurities and leftover colorants. Even if they look the same on the shelf, internal stress builds up on thin joints and puzzle click-fit sections of 3D shapes.
A small, controlled proportion of clean, sorted regrind is acceptable for eco balance. Yet some suppliers push regrind ratio extremely high with poor sorting. Temperature changes during ocean transit worsen cracking, leading to high customer complaint rates.
At our factory, we strictly cap regrind percentage. We use mostly virgin TPR, only adding verified clean regrind within our fixed formula. Our 3D assembly erasers stay flexible for repeated take-apart play and meet global safety standards.
Price matters, but hidden material quality decides your after-sales risk. If you source 3D erasers for retail or kid gifts, always confirm the raw material formula and lab test reports.
